| Chris was laid off after five years of employment with his last employer at the end of 2004. After eight years of work experience he made a decision to make a career change after the layoff. Below is how he accomplished that. -----Original Message----- From: Chris M [mailto: @comcast.net] Sent: Friday, July 22, 2005 5:39 PM To: 'Kathleen Conners' Subject: RE: Testimonial Hi Kathleen, After 4 months of filtering through on-line job postings, attending networking groups and utilizing personal contacts, my job search seemed to only crawl at a snails pace. I learned of your seminar through an online networking group and shortly after, attended your presentation and purchased your book. Combined with my notes from your seminar and your book, I drew up a call cheat sheet for assistance. I was totally blown away by how powerful a skilled phone presence impacted my job hunt! I found that approximately 80% of my calls entailed speaking to a sales rep that transferred me directly to a hiring manager! This ALWAYS resulted in an on-the-spot phone interview or scheduling an interview for a later date, if a position was available or up for discussion. I also always asked for names of other people I should speak to and companies I should contact. It truly surprised me how willing people are to give out this information! After 7 days of calls, my call list kept multiplying and the continual activity secured 4 weeks of back-to-back interviews mixed between on-site and phone interviews! I had the good fortune of turning down numerous interviews and job offers and quickly developed to the point of spending the majority of my time preparing for interviews. Needless to say, I found a great job 6 weeks after I employed your techniques. What I’d also like to touch on is the excellent interviewing practice each and every call gave me, as well as the level of confidence that I developed and have carried into my new job. Thank you!!!!!! Have a great weekend!! Chris
